Communities

Student communities are home carefully built by the university for the students. Each community is composed of community service center and 2-3 student apartments. The university has six communities: Garden Community, Chinese Parasol Community, Golden Chrysanthemum Community, Silver Birch Community, Blooming Lotus Community, Rose Community. Students can freely choose their dormitories according to their personal wishes. Every two dormitories are equipped with a life tutor to help freshmen adapt to college life. The student community is equipped with a number of full-time counselors to provide 24-hour considerate service. The community establishes a student self-management committee to carry out self-education, self-management and self-service. The student community won the titles of Civilized Apartment for College Students in Liaoning Province, Comprehensive Reform and Opening-up Base of “Three Complete Education” in Liaoning Province, and Comprehensive Reform Pilot of “One-stop” Student Life Community in China.

Sports Clubs

The sports club undertakes the university’s physical education task, and offers 4-credit physical education courses for freshmen and sophomores. Students can choose club projects according to their own interests and hobbies. Through sports activities, training and competitions, the club cultivates students’ sports skills, tenacious sportsmanship, and lifelong exercise habits. The school has 20 sports clubs, including athletics, rugby, roller skating ball, golf, kayaking, water sports, fencing, soccer, basketball, volleyball, badminton, tennis, table tennis, wooden ball, yoga, aerobics, fitness, martial arts, taekwondo and military sports. Rich sports and excellent sports facilities provide help for students’ personalized development.

Arts Troupes

The Arts Troupes undertakes the aesthetic education teaching task of the school, offering 2 credits of aesthetic education courses for freshmen. Students can choose art group activities according to their interests and hobbies. With projects as the carrier, the Arts Troupes organizes and carries out program rehearsals, activities and performances to cultivate students’artistic skills, improve their artistic accomplishment and cultivate their thoughts and sentiments. The school has 11 arts troupes, including Marching Band, Chorus, Dancing Troupe, Chinese Orchestra, Modern Drama troupe, Opera Troupe, Calligraphy and Painting Group, Peking Opera Troupe, Quyi Troupe, Electroacoustic Band and String Orchestra, to provide help for students’individual development.
